Overview

By providing a comprehensive PC-based or Windows®-based network system called CRIterion ®, CRI helps credit unions maximize their productivity and increase member satisfaction. CRIterion ® makes loan and member services more responsive and operations more efficient across the board. Part of the CRIterion ® system is the Credit Insurance and Claims Initiation and Tracking System. This system provides remote access to real time claim payment and status information via remote dial-in access.

Project Inception

The Credit Insurance and Claims Initiation and Tracking System referred to as EITS (Electronic Insurance Tracking System) was originally a DOS based application with limited functionality. TSI proposed to CRI to convert the application into a Microsoft Windows 3 TIER application.

Project Involvement

Secure Dial-In Communications Layer
To enable the new EITS system to fully take advantage of the multitasking environment provided by Windows 95 and NT, a new communications layer was designed and implemented by TSI. The new communications layer allows for simultaneous communications by many applications via the same dial-in connection. The technology has now been standardized as PPP (formally SLIP) technology.

EITS Windows Client
The DOS based application was completely redesigned as a Microsoft Windows multitasking application. The feature set of the EITS for Windows application far exceeded that of the former DOS application. Additional features such as multi-member queries, zoom information detailing, full payment histories, mail, online customer support, reporting, file transfer, and remote administration. The features were provided in a user-friendly windows application.
